The function ribbon consists of a number panels. Inside each panel are a small number of icons. These icons mostly perform functions that operate on the entire model, as opposed to a single group or entity. To perform an operation on an entity, the entity must first be selected (usually from the 3D viewer or the Mesh Parameters Window ). At that point a context menu will be available to perform the operation on the selected entities. The panels that make up the ribbon change based which Function Tab is selected. However, some panels are always in the ribbon such as Orientation and Display .
